What is Neurodiversity in the Workplace?
Neurodiversity in the Workplace™ (NITW) is dedicated to making neurodiversity a fundamental component of talent acquisition by eliminating barriers faced by neurodivergent job seekers. As a consultancy and training provider, we design, implement and sustain neurodiversity hiring programs with partner organizations seeking a more diverse, equitable, and innovative workforce. Our partnerships with companies such as Dell Technologies, Bank of America, SAP, and VMware allow us to connect highly qualified neurodivergent talent to career opportunities across the globe. Position Summary: The Senior Associate will represent the Neurodiversity in the Workplace (NITW) program in the greater Boston metropolitan area. The aim of this position is to advance the goal of making neurodiversity an integral part of the modern workforce. The Senior Associate will move us closer to this goal by fostering more meaningful participation and facilitation of neurodiversity hiring initiatives in the greater Boston area (NITW Hub). The Senior Associate will be responsible for crafting the conversation among interested parties (corporate, NGO, governmental, etc.), leveraging existing partnerships, and creating new partnerships in and around the topic in the region. The position’s responsibilities (after training and onboarding) include but are not limited to:
- Speak knowledgeably about the topic of neurodiversity and autism employment.
- Work with corporate partners in a consulting relationship to help implement methods for hiring neurodiverse individuals.
- Organize communities to boost the abilities of companies, providers, state offices, and higher education to conduct neurodiversity programming and initiatives.
- Organize and present at conferences and events designed to encourage companies/ partners to become engaged.
- Manage multiple stakeholders including, colleges and universities, governmental organizations, NGOs, etc.
- Facilitate the employment process for neurodiverse individuals at partner locations.
- Collaborate with the NITW team to implement national efforts and projects.
- Design and developing corporate neurodiversity inclusion curriculum with the guidance of NITW staff.
- Provide career consulting for neurodivergent employees
- Work with other NITW Hubs to facilitate international community organization
- Attend regional, national, and local events as appropriate.
- Perform additional duties as required by program leadership and partners.
Qualifications
- This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree, plus more than 1 year of experience in any of the following: workforce development, job coaching, talent acquisition, human resources, community organizing, business development or any other closely related field.
- Clear criminal and child abuse history, medical and drug screen will be required.
- Demonstration of effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- This position requires a flexible work schedule and occasional availability on weekends and/or evenings.
- This position may require occasional national and/or international travel
