The Modeling Specialist will assist and support projects and pursuits in the quantification of work items through takeoffs. The Modeling Specialist will work within the Project Controls group within Kiewit that focuses on providing accurate and timely quantities to support the successful construction of various projects throughout the US and Canada. This Project Controls group is on the cutting edge by using the latest technology and procedures to support large infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
Various tasks may include: Reading and reviewing documents and drawings with the ability to create models from these
Quantifying construction components using PDF plans, 2D CAD files, and/or 3D models
Coordination and communication with designers, construction personnel, and project controls staff to facilitate takeoff of work items
Site logistics plans- Excavation models
Aid in the coordination/creation of lift drawings as required
Documentation and printing
Qualifications
Position is located in the Lone Tree office
Familiar with reading drawings/blueprints
Associate degree or vocational training program in Design and Drafting Technology and 0-2 years of design experience or a related field; or High school diploma or General education degree (GED) and a minimum of 5 years of design experience
Proficiency with at least one infrastructure-focused modeling software such as Bentley MicroStation, Revit, InRoads, AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, AGTEK, or similar
Proficient with the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
Professional experience in construction or infrastructure design preferred but not required
Experience with takeoff software such as OnScreen, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, or similar preferred but not required
