Position Overview
Responsibilities
Work at the direction of design leader to prepare CAD drawings for roadway projects.
Use Bentley MicroStation / AutoCAD software to develop work products
Produce documents with MS Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Use CADD software to create detailed 2D or 3D designs for complex projects
Attend in-house trainings, sign up for applicable online trainings
Become familiar with and implement DOT CAD standards
Ensure quality work products through KIE’s quality management plans
Qualifications
Associate degree or vocational training program in Design and Drafting Technology and 0-2 years of design experience or a related field; or High school diploma or General education degree (GED) and a minimum of 5 years of design experience
0-4 years’ experience in CAD production of highway and civil designs
Design experience on Design-Build projects preferred
Basic knowledge of engineering principles for highway construction
Ability to read and understand construction documents
Proficient in utilizing a Computer-Aided Drafting program such as MicroStation, Revit, AutoCad or AutoCad Civil 3D.
Basic skills in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
Basic knowledge of 3D modeling
The ability to clearly communicate and collaborate well with Engineers and Designers
